About

Hi! I’m Katie (that furry critter in the picture is Sir Alistair). I am currently an Assistant Professor at Northern Arizona University in Flagstaff, Arizona. I do research at the intersection of philosophy of mind (especially perception and emotions), aesthetics, and feminist philosophy, and critical race theory. My current projects focus on the concept of social perception–how subjects see, or seem to see, the social identities of people around them. I teach classes in philosophy of mind, feminist philosophy, and logic.

When not philosophizing, I love to spend time outside: running, hiking, rock climbing–pretty much anything! I’m also an avid embroiderer and an aspiring knitter.
